IN-PERSON AND ONLINE THERAPY IN FLOWER MOUND AND ACROSS TEXAS
Where healing begins and
hope is restored.
Compassionate therapy for the exhausted, the overthinkers, the anxious, and the self-critical who are ready to find peace within themselves and their relationships.
Life is feeling really hard
right now.
If you are searching therapists’ websites, you are probably in a difficult season.
Maybe it is a significant life change that has been both lovely and really stressful. Maybe it is experiences from your past that keep haunting you. Maybe it is the chronic hum of anxiety, feeling like you are waiting for the other shoe to drop. Maybe it’s the hurt and disconnection you feel with those you love the most.
Whatever brings you here, I am sorry for the ways life has not turned out as you hoped or expected.
As beautiful as life can be it, it is also really messy and complicated.
It is really important to me that we honor the complexity of your experience.
HI, I’M EMILY.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
And I am really honored that you would consider me to be a part of your journey. Whether you want clarity on how to manage the stressors, or if you mainly want someone to listen to what’s been burdening you, I’m happy be present with you.
Based on research, we know the hardest part of our painful experiences isn’t always the experience itself, but feeling alone in that experience. My greatest hope in our work together is that you would know in your brain, and feel in your body, that you are not alone.
In sessions, you’ll notice I love using humor and light-hearted banter when the moment is right. Therapy doesn’t always need to be heavy! I really enjoy what I do and hope that all my clients get to experience how grateful I am to be invited into their story.
MY SPECIALTIES:
01
For those who want to feel close to the people they love but find themselves stuck in the same fights. And for those who are wounded from past experiences in relationships and want to heal.
02
For those who are tired of the hypervigilance, the fear of worst-case scenarios, or the reminders of past distressing experiences. Those who are ready to feel safe in their brains and their bodies.
03
For those who have struggled with confusing or harmful teachings related to sex and bodies, like Purity Culture. Those who have not always experienced sex as good or safe.
04
For those who know all the right answers but still feel stuck. Who can’t conquer the deep, negative beliefs about themselves, and for those who feel like the past keeps coming back up.
ADDITIONAL AREAS OF FOCUS:
-
You may often feel overwhelmed by worry, experiencing lots of “what if” scenarios running through your mind. Maybe you feel always hypervigilant, alert for when things might go wrong.
Although these thoughts try to protect you from danger and rejection, they have become all-consuming and exhausting.
-
You may be feeling drained, exhausted, or like you’re just going through the motions. Maybe you are experiencing bone-deep weariness from pushing through for so long. Or you have experienced so many life changes and stressors back to back that you can’t even remember what normal feels like. It can be hard to understand why you feel this way or what’s weighing you down.
-
You may be navigating questions about where God is in your pain, wrestling with faith-related guilt or shame, or simply longing for support that honors both your emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Many clients come in wanting their faith to be part of the process, but not in a way that feels preachy, rigid, or disconnected from their real struggles.
I try to offer a space where your faith and your feelings are both taken seriously. And a space where your questions, doubts, and emotional experiences are met with compassion and curiosity.
-
You may experience lots of ruminating or spiraling thoughts that leave you distracted and exhausted. You often second-guess yourself or hear that inner voice saying you're not good enough. Those self-critical thoughts keep you stuck, making it difficult to trust yourself or your decisions.
NEXT STEPS
Life is stressful enough right now. Let’s make this part as easy as possible.
Choose a day and time for a free, no-pressure 15-minute consultation where we can connect and talk through what’s bringing you here.
